# Translate Wingdings

Translate Wingdings is a deterministic, browser-local tool for four Microsoft symbol-font mappings: Wingdings, Wingdings 2, Wingdings 3, and Webdings.

## Important limits

Wingdings is a font, not a language or text encoding. A portable Unicode mapping can still render differently across fonts and devices. Rows labeled close match are not claimed to be visually identical. Font-only rows intentionally have no portable Unicode claim. Microsoft font binaries are not served by this site.

No translator input is sent to the server. Share text is stored after the URL fragment marker `#`, which is not included in HTTP requests. The site has no analytics, account, advertising script, or translation API.

## Sources

The mapping build uses Unicode L2/11-052R, current Unicode character names, Microsoft typography/support documentation, and the pinned BSD-2-Clause package `dingbat-to-unicode@1.0.1`. Full row-level provenance is included in `/chart.json`.
